The Boat Monitor BM40 offers three remote switching options:

  1. The first option is local switching using the built-in relay. The BM-40 is equipped with a low power relay capable of switching loads up to 1A. In cases where higher power is needed, a secondary power relay can be utilized. This particular channel is commonly used for switching deck lights, NMEA2000 instruments, or a fridge. See installation manual for more information on interfacing the relay.
  2. Sentinel HUB is a wireless extension to the BM-40 unit.  Each HUB offers multiple input channels, including two low power relay outputs capable of handling loads up to 1A. The HUB option shares a similar concept to the built-in relay, with the added advantage of wireless connectivity, making installation much simpler and more convenient.
  3. For enhanced functionality, the integration of a digital switching system through the NMEA2000 network is the most advanced option. By installing a digital switching system like CZone or Empirbus on the boat, remote switching becomes achievable by configuring the digital switching system to seamlessly work with third-party devices such as the Sentinel BM-40. Once the digital switching system is appropriately configured, the Sentinel app will provide accessible switches. To obtain more detailed information, please refer to the CZone integration guide.
