Why does it happen?

In rare cases when the Service battery is empty for a longer period of time (>20 hours) the device will automatically switch off to prevent discharging the Service battery. This is a feature of the device called "Battery Protection Mode". After the Service battery is recharged, the device remains switched off and a power on sequence is required.

Diagnosing the case

You can determine if that is the case by observing device Track LED. If the LED blinks very briefly every ~22 seconds, the device is in battery protection mode (see video below).

Resolution

Method 1:

Just follow this simple procedure:

1. Locate the fuse for the Boat Monitor device

2. Remove the fuse

3. Wait for 1 minute

4. Reinsert the fuse

Method 2:

If you don't know where the fuse is located, you can also locate the Box and unplug the red wire for 1 minute before plugging it back.

Some OEM devices are equipped with connectors. In such a case, follow the guide below:

1. Locate the three device connectors

2. Locate the biggest of the three connectors (6 wires)

3. Unplug the connector. Push the lock lever and pull the connector from the socket. Pull with significant force to overcome

the vacuum force that is created inside the connector. See video below for more details.

4. Wait 1 minute

5. Plug the connector back (see video)

Done

After this procedure, the device LEDs will power up and start blinking after approx. 60 seconds.
