The GPS reception on your device is very poor. Here are a few things to check:

  • Make sure the that you followed these guidelines when positioning the device:
    • Install in a dry area (no direct contact with water)
    • If possible install the device vertically with grey (sensor and supply) cable facing down.
    • Place the device in a position where no metal objects are obstructing the sky view of the device.
    • Also avoid pipes or other electronic devices above boat monitor
    • Try installing the device above the water line for optimal communication performance
    • Avoid direct sunlight or other sources of heat. The device temperature should never exceed 50 C
  • If the guidelines above cannot be met here are some further considerations:
The guidelines above ensure optimal boat positioning accuracy with built-in GPS antenna.
    • When installing vertically DO NOT use any orientation other than supply cable facing towards the ground. If this cannot be achieved, install the device horizontally.
    • There should be no conductive objects such as electronic devices, metal walls or cabinets, cables or tubes in close proximity and especially above the device. If this cannot be achieved (large, steel or aluminum boats), use external GPS antenna with 3m cable (optional, not included) and install it in a position following the guidelines from above.
