"User Management" is a feature designed for charter companies that operate with multiple bases.

The feature enables that a supervisor (e.g. the head of a charter company) oversees boats from multiple bases. Each base can then be individually managed by dedicated base managers, who manage a subset of boats.

Each user in the User Management needs to have Sentinel user account before continuing.

Adding a base manager to your group

Inviting the base manager to your group

1. In the web application, login with the Sentinel account that will be the supervisor

2. Tap on the account menu, and select "User Management"

3. Tap on "Add user" and enter the e-mail of your first base manager

4. A request will be sent to the entered email, and shown as "pending" until the base manager confirms.

Accepting an invitation to a group

Your base manager will receive an email inviting them to join the group.

1. Tap "Accept" in the invitation e-email

2. Once logged into the web application, confirm that you agree to join the group.

Overview of base managers

Once the base manager has accepted the invitation to join your group, the supervisor will gain the ability to manage their boats.

Additionally, in the normal operation of the web application, the supervisor will be able to filter boats of a specific base manager, as shown below. This is handy once you have multiple bases, and want to focus on a specific sub-fleet.

The supervisor account has full access to manage boats from all base managers, and can even move them between base managers. This means that if the base manager clears an alert, it will also be cleared for the supervisor, and vice-versa. All boat configuration is shared.

Changing boat ownership/visibility

The supervisor has the ability to move a boat from one Sentinel user account to another one, without additional confirmation from the base manager! This is a powerful tool, but use it with caution to avoid confusion.

1. Login as the supervisor and open the "User Management" from the account menu.

2. Select one or more boats you wish to transfer from one user to another, and tap on "Move".

3. Select the new owner of the selected boats and click Confirm.

4. See the change reflect immediately, as shown below (we moved boat "Antena Panda" to the supervisor account. The base manager is no longer to see this boat in their account)

Managing notifications for the supervisor

The supervisor user can manage multiple bases and oversee hundreds of boats. If the supervisor uses the Sentinel mobile application to monitor their combined fleet, they may be overwhelmed by push notifications for alerts. If so, the supervisor can disable push notification for himself in the "User Management" section of the web application, as shown below. This does not affect his/her ability to see boats alerts, only the push notification.
